Enable Microsoft Single Sign-On (SSO)

Set up Microsoft Single Sign-On for Simply Stakeholders.

You need to be an IT administrator to set up SSO.

How do you set up Single Sign-On?

Simply Stakeholders supports Single Sign-On (SSO) via Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), included with Microsoft 365 / Office 365. This allows your users to log into Simply Stakeholders with their Microsoft 365 credentials instead of separate usernames and passwords.

To enable SSO for your organisation, we have to first configure your Simply Stakeholders account with your Tenant ID.

What are the requirements for SSO?

  • An Azure Active Directory tenant - via Azure AD or Microsoft 365 / Office 365.

  • Send your Tenant ID to Simply Stakeholders.
    This is a globally unique identifier (GUID) that's different to your tenant name or domain.

How to set up the Simply Stakeholders application in Azure AD

You can set up the Simply Stakeholders application once the Tenant ID has been set up by Simply Stakeholders in your account.

  1. Go to the Azure Portal and navigate to Azure Active Directory.

  2. Navigate to the Enterprise Applications tab.

  3. Click New application.

  4. Search for and select Simply Stakeholders - Darzin Software.

  5. Click Sign up for Simply Stakeholders.

  6. Click Sign in with Microsoft.
    You'll be redirected to an Azure AD login page.

  7. Review and consent to the required permissions on behalf of the organisation:

    • Sign users in (open id).

    • View user's basic profile (profile).

    • Maintain access to data you have given it access to (offline_access).

    • Read all users' basic profiles (User.ReadBasic.All).

  8. You may see an 'Error signing in with external account' page. You can ignore this.

Once users have linked their accounts, they can log in by clicking the Sign in with Microsoft button on the login page instead of entering their client code, username and password.
