What is a Commitment?

A commitment is a clear promise or agreement to take specific actions or achieve certain goals that you make with the stakeholders involved in your project. It's a public declaration of what you intend to do for or with the community as a result of your project outcomes, helping you build and maintain your social license. Some examples of commitments could be benefit sharing, creating local job or education opportunities, or even ongoing support and collaboration beyond the life of the project.

Note: Commitments is a paid add-on module, please contact us if you're interested in purchasing the module.

Why should I log a Commitment?

Tracking commitments in Simply Stakeholders is essential for maintaining transparency, accountability, and trust. It ensures that every promise made - whether big or small - is documented, monitored, and followed through. This not only strengthens relationships with stakeholders by showing that their input leads to real outcomes, but also helps project teams stay aligned, manage risks proactively, and demonstrate responsible engagement. Ultimately, a clear record of commitments transforms good intentions into measurable actions that deliver long-term value for both the community and the project.
