About network maps

Stakeholder relationships can be complex. Simply Stakeholders helps you to map and track these relationships.

A network map shows how a stakeholder is connected to organisations, other stakeholders, and your project. It gives you an easily understood visual representation of your stakeholders' relationships.

You can access a stakeholder's network map via the Relationships tab in the their stakeholder record.

Why use network maps?

A network map makes relationships easy to understand, and helps you to see:

  • Where the stakeholder sits within an organisation.

  • How best to target and plan your engagement.

Network map terminology

  • Internal Stakeholder is another stakeholder this person has a relationship with within their primary organisation.

  • External Stakeholder is another stakeholder this person has a relationship with from another organisation

  • External Organisations is another organisation this person has a relationship with.

  • Relationship Manager is a user within your Simply Stakeholders who is assigned to manage the relationship for this stakeholder.

How to access a network map

  1. Click the Stakeholders icon on the left of the screen.

  2. Click your chosen stakeholder record.

  3. Click the Relationships tab.

The network map for this stakeholder will open, showing their relationships in tiered, tree-like fashion. This lets you quickly and easily see:

  • Who this stakeholder works for.

  • Who this stakeholder reports to.

  • Who reports to this stakeholder.

  • What other organisations this stakeholder is connected with.

You can also create a new stakeholder and link it to this stakeholder from this map.
